Scientist

Streamlit is a company built on data science that creates tools for data science - and we need an amazing data scientist to come help us push our product even further! You will play an incredibly influential role in helping us better understand the community and product usage, as well as building out the tools we need for launching a successful commercial product.

What you’ll be doing

Use data to find opportunities and drive optimization for product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques and drive implementation.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to optimize the product experience.
Develop an A/B testing framework we can use for various company experiments.
Coordinate with the engineering team to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

What you bring

3+ years of experience in a data or statistics role.
Experience working with and creating data architectures.
Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
Experience using Python and another common data science toolset (R, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.

Level up bonus points

Streamlit skillz! We do a large part of our data analysis and presentation in Streamlit.
B.S. or other advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, CS or other related field.
Experience setting up data management services like: Redshift, S3, BigQuery, etc.
Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

Our multifaceted product is composed of (1) an open-source library that users run on their own computers/remote machines/containers, (2) a web app, and (3) a cloud service.
